:BARF bills itself as a forum for seperating
:Christian influence from the nation.
Well, no. Actually it is about maintaining
something resembling the status quo against those
who think a revolution (in every sense of that
word) is necessary and desirable to "restore" a
mythical set of Christian values - that has never
existed in this country in practice - and turning
all those who disagree into second-class
citizens. It is about insuring that government
is not subverted by a subculture to enforce its
social agenda against all citizens.
In other words, we don't consider ourselves to be
the initiators of any action. We do however work
to articulate what we value and what is worth
defending, and how peace and prosperity are
incompatible with the goal of a revolution
engendered by mass-movement evangelicalism.
We often see our role as working to defuse a
potentially very dangerous situation, so we have
been known to call ourselves "defusionaries."
Understandibly it suits your purposes to confuse
our saying "stop the revolution you fools" with
"purge all the Christians," doesn't it?
:As I read the letters to this forum it becomes
:increasingly obvious that it is primarily a forum
:for Sabina and Mike to espouse their pro-abortion
:and anti-adoption neurosis (neurosees? What is
:the plural of neuroses?).
Those are areas of personal interest; inevitably
those things will turn up in our writing. Have I
tagged your Christianity with the label
"neurosis" lately? I didn't think so.
:At any rate, this site is dated and boring.
:Nothing has been posted new on the main site
:since January. At least make it interesting.
Be careful what you ask for, Nick. You might get
And if it's so boring, Nick, why are you still
